Reconditioned Turbo's?

Are these as good as new or just a way of putting off the really bad news?

While not done it on a Merc, I have used a lot of recon turbos on the 300zx's a few years back. Effectively they use the existing shell and fit a replacement or upgraded cartridge which, if done by a reputable company, is tested and balanced before being returned to you. In reality they will send you a recon unit, which you fit and then return your unit to them.

I used turbotechnics for years and found them very good (other turbo recon agents are available )

AET Turbo's at Normanton near Wakefield used there recon ones all the time just as good as a new
