Hi

I'm currently experiencing problems with what seems to be the fuel system, namely a recurring air lock.

1) The car starts but sometimes it takes a few tries, if you try to soon after a failed start the car barely turns over on the second/ third try.

2) After the car starts it will sometimes start by limping or eventually go into limp with a check engine light.

3) The symptoms subside after i bleed it from the injector nut but it eventually returns again.

4) I only bleed it at the first nut as the others seem to don't show air bubbles and I've been told it's not necessary to bleed them all? This I'm confused about as many people say the system is self bleeding?

5) If the car is starting does that mean the air lock is gone? Do you have to go through a certain amount of driving first?

6) Is air re entering the system? Do i have to bleed off all injectors?

7) Do the o rings on the overflow allow air to seep in? Shall i check these again?

8) Have I not bled the system properly?

Any help would be appreciated...

Be helpful if you could say which model, year engine type etc 😊. My old 350 cdi was self priming so I never had issues. Suspect either faulty injector(s) or air entry in any number of places if something has been disassembled.

Hi, yes. My apologies. It's an e320 cdi w211. Gonna go with changing the pcv valve and will report back as to what lead me to suspect that. I have previously changed it once before and done about 40 thousand miles on it.
