I'm just waiting for the capsule to crash into him now :D

Well done that man !

It felt like a modern day moon landing moment to me. Sweaty palms galore.

Simply magnificent!!!!!

I love it when people do these things just because they can. I watched it from about 70.000 feet upwards. Dinner was late but who cares?

I suspect he didn't get the longest freefall time because of the speed gained when there was virtually no air resistance. s=vt and all that. More v, less t

Was totally enthralled by it ,however did have a moment when he looked like he was spinning out of control. Thankfully he recovered and his landing was like he stepped off a chair!

This image will become as iconic as Earthrise.

Does anybody know what the Big Red Switch by the right handrail is for?

I asked the same question and got this reply..

"That was the coffee button - " I'll be down shortly" "

I think it was the button that set off a timer to cut the balloon free (post jump) and subsequently set the capsule parachute off.

Either that or it was room service :D

According to the Press Conference

MACH 1.24 :bannana:

833.9 mph

I thought it was to start the high speed cameras. He pressed it after being told to start them rolling, so that's what I imaged it was.

Apparently as well as the records for highest jump, fastest jump and longest freefall....

Felix also managed to finally catch Chris Waddle's penalty from Italia 90

Saw Felix Baumgartner today interviewed on the 1 oclock news--- that is one cool dude.
