Had replacement compressor fitted today. Air is now nice and cold but because of numerous problems with it over the last year I've been monitoring the refrigerant pressure using the climate system in diagnostic mode.
I'm puzzled as to why the pressure is typically 4 bar higher when the car is stationary with the engine idling compared to when on the move. If anything, I would've expected it to be the other way round?
Also, the pressure varies significantly between 8 and 16 bar depending (I think) on the outside temperate. Is this because it's a variable displacement compressor that's altering it's output to match the required amount of cooling?
