Reliable and Reputable Mercedes Specialist in Lancashire?

Hi all. Can anyone recommend a good Mercedes Specialist / Independent garage in the Lancashire area? I live in Accrington but don’t mind travelling a little.

There are lots of decent garages around me but would be good to go to someone who knows Mercedes cars well.

A quick Google search yields the attached. Can anyone vouch for any on the list or recommend someone?

I only need to get my thermostat changed for now but no doubt will need work in the future.

You could try Read Garage.

My neighbour as used them for years.

My wife used them for her focus.

More of an heads up rather than a recommendation.

I have used CVM in Preston after a recommendation on here. They were really good, genuine and honest. I will be using them again for sure.

What was your wife’s experience with them like? All good?

Good with focus.

I took my Quashi with oil leak and they were reluctant to look at it fearing that it would take up a ramp for some time if they had difficulties getting parts. Thus losing other jobs.

We both use Marshalls in Blackburn on a service plan. (E400 & C220)

With all the problems with sensors Marshalls replaced mine and wife's sensors FOC after speaking to MB. So I tend to use a MB dealer.

But not all dealers are same. I originally used Skipton Mercedes who informed me that they had replaced all 2 sensors to fix EML problems. After 3 months EML came on again. Took to Marshalls and they informed my car as 4 sensors.

At a service Skipton MB advised I will need new Disks & Pads at a cost of approx. £800. A year later at a Marshalls service I asked about Disk & Pads and was told they were fine.

With hindsight I feel that some dealers look a little too earlier then need be for work.

Skipton MB as now closed its doors.

Appreciate the in-depth account of your experiences David. I’ve bought a genuine thermostat from MB of Newcastle on eBay. I’m thinking of fitting that and the brakes myself. I’ll have a look. If it looks too daunting I’ll get in touch with one of the garages mentioned in this thread.

Really happy to have signed up on here and to have spoken to a friendly bunch of enthusiasts.
It’s my first Mercedes and hoping won’t be the last. (Got an Audi Q5 and a Honda in the household too)
