Hi, thinking of using MB Tech for a D Service, how did you get on?

    Thanks.

    Hello

They were great, certainly seem to know their stuff, just don't expect a Merc Dealers waiting area etc..

My full service on the ML, including MOT and finding the fault with my ABS, BAS lights (and it wasn't just the brake switch) was £400 all in.

I had a good day walking round Gemini Buisiness park... Ikea, Next, M&S etc etc..

    Hi Messa
Would you give feedback as to how you get on. I am looking for a good reliable indi merc repairer for a D+ service and possibly other work in the Cheshire area.
? Does anyone know what a D + service is.
    Thanks

The + appears when the car thinks the brakes need done.

Hi David, sorry for the delay I have been pushed for time to get it in, it is booked in for Thursday so will let you know.

I have just been down to see them and first impressions are good ones, very helpful and down to earth.

    Will let you know.

Hi all, sorry for the delay in reporting back.

I had a full D service and a transmission oil & multiplug change (only needed due to some jerky gear changes I have been having) for £420, with the service being £260 of that.

I was pleased with the price and also the honest advice I got regarding ECU remapping, which they advised against even though it could have been an easy earner for them.

I can tell the car has been done as it is driving really well and my gearbox problem is fine, so the recommendation to change the gearbox oil was a good one.

I wont be going anywhere else in the future, an easy recommendation.

    Messa

PS And they gave it a full clean as well

    :)

Hi Messa, why did they advise against the re-mapping of the ecu?

Hi, he advised agains it because MB themselves were of the opinion that the gearbox/transmission was not able to manage the extra torque long term.

If I was not keeping the car for the long term it wouldnt matter to me, but I don't fancy problems further down the line.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, yes it was done at MB-Tech at Warrington, they are near the large B&Q just off the M6/M62.

    Hope this helps,

    Messa

Hi Messa and A210AMG. Have now used MB Tech Ltd and was impressed. My wipers packed in which I worked out was a fault in the indicator/wiper stalk.
Telephoned MB Tech Ltd who from my description formed the same view. As it was going in for that I decided to have the D+ service done as well. They called it a full service and quoted £260 + VAT.

:thumb:I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up the car. The total bill was £330.05. For this they they replaced the indicator/wiper stalk (part £52) and the batteries in my key fob. They also did a service but only charged £160 plus VAT for this as they told me that some of the items they would have done on their full service did not need doing. They also washed the car and dressed the tyres. That was the good news!

:dk:Regretably a few days after all the electric in the boot (3rd brake light, number plate lights, interior boot lights and remote boot opening) stopped working.

Have now booked it in again for that work. They said they have dealt with a couple of Mercs recently with the same problem which was due to the wiring harness in the boot.

Thanks once again for your recommendation.

    David

That is a good price !! A huge saving there no doubt.

Hope you get your new problem sorted.

    :)
