remote button problem

i have a 2004 SL500 R230.

i have keyless go on my car, my remote is giving a problem. i have changed to new batteries. when i approach the car the doors dont unlock and when i get in the keyless go button dosnt work. i can start the car normally when i put it in the ignition. to confuse the issue when i first changed the battery the keyless go worked?! the other remote never worked so i cant test that. the lock and unlock on the remote dosnt work either.

keyless go problem!

I have have the same problem!

My car a 2007 SL came with two keys, 1st key was a bit bashed, it worked the keyless go and most of the buttons worked, the second key looked much better, but when pressing the door button, the car said that the key was not detected, [ keyless go does not work with this key] so i changed all the batteries in the fobs which made no difference.

I needed to replace one of the keys anyway [ the bashed one] so i ordered a new key from Mercedes which comes pre-programmed , thinking that would work fine, as between both of my old keys all the functions work correctly. Wrong, it came today and is the same as my better looking old key, meaning the keyless go does not work as the car says the key is not detected [ car starts with this key and buttons work fine].

Does anyone know if the car can be re-set to make the keyless go work on these keys? It just very odd that the keyless go works on the old bashed key!
