Please help I have downloaded the Mercedes REMOTE PARKING APP on my phone. Opened it and it says Authorise new vehicle. It tries to search for a vehicle but only comes up with:-

In order to connect the app. First select CONNECT NEW DEVICE under vehicle>REMOTE PARKING ASSIST on COMMAND/AUDIO 20 and then AUTHORISE NEW VEHICLE in the app.

Where / what is COMMAND/AUDIO 20 in the car or online?

I cannot find REMOTE PARKING ASSIST on car

Kind regards

Tiony

Comand or Audio 20 is the sound/entertainment/control system in your car on the iPad type display on the dash. Audio 20 is the basic standard system, Comand has more features and is part of the Premium Plus package.

I don’t think your car has remote parking. From memory, it is only available on the newer E and S classes

Has anyone actually used remote parking?
I've not been brave enough to try it yet, but I'm wondering this.

My driveway is pretty tight when the E63 is being parked, and it can be a bit of a squeeze getting in/out.
For instance, I must reverse park as there is a small dividing wall between my house and next door, so when I reverse park, the drivers door is at the gable wall of my house.
Could I park the car at the top of the driveway where there is ample room to get out due to the garden being on the drivers side, and use the remote parking app to get the car to reverse down the drive/drive back out in the morning?
I'll try to get a photo uploaded.

I suspect that low wall to the left of the car may well confuse it and I certainly wouldn't want to risk my paintwork and alloys trying that!

I know what you mean, was just trying to avoid getting a wet ass getting out/in whenever its been raining..

The situation you describe seems to me to be exactly what remote parking is intended for. If you are not confident, perhaps you could practice in a less confined area first. As I understand it, the function requires fairly close supervision. You need to be close to the vehicle and as soon as you stop twirling your finger on your smartphone it stops immediately. It only goes in straight lines, so no steering. However, are you sure you have the remote parking function? I only ask because MB dropped it as an option after a short while. My Mar 19 E class could not have it, so unfortunately I can't offer any views based on experience. Sounds fun though.

I definitely have the option of remote parking.
I had to nip out to Tesco there, and out of curiosity I had had a test try, so I moved the car forward from one space to another.
It's a bit fiddly but too bloody cold to try anymore.

I am very envious!

I got some odd looks :D
Probably thinking, WTF is yer man doing walking beside the car
