Remote window open and close?

I have read on here several references to the key opperated window open and close function by pressing then re pressing the same fob button. Used to have this feature on a Mondeo, but it does not seem to work on the S211. Does this point to something more important that is adrift or could it just not be a feature that has been activated. The tunnel close / open feature works with the recirc button.

Any ideas?

On my C it only works if the key is within about a 1 foot distance away from the drivers door handle which makes it a bit pointless.

It should work but the function is really poor on the W211/S211, the key needs to be really close to the I.R. sensor on the driver side door and aimed correctly.

The function works wonders on the W210/S210, I can open and close the windows on my father's W210 from 1 metre away and it works on the passenger side door as well, from all sorts of angles.

It's a known problem on many Mercs - sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I've given up on it.
