Any experts in the fine art ofdealer sticker removing from heated rear screen. It has seen better days, and is decidedly unhappy at being there, so I thought a nice MBClub sticker would look better. But first the old must go. Any ideas please.

I bought this stuff called Jelsol a while back... Its good stuff. Otherwise, t cut and long nails....

You could try a hair dryer to soften up the adhesive.
It's always worked for me

Also try a winder scraper (stanley knife blade on a handle), just be careful of the heating elements!

Mere words cannot convey how much I LOATHE dealer stickers. Stems from the time when I picked up a company car which did not just sport a horrible rear window sticker, but a vast adhesive tax disk holder with the dealer name plastered all over it and, horror or horrors, a chromed dealer name badge stuck on to the tailgate as well.

Told them to take it all off & they damaged paint and one of the heating elements in the process, So I rejected the car and thus caused a long running dispute between myself, company car department, leasing company and dealer.

If fairly new easy enough, but adhesive hardens with time and even the hairdryer does not help much. May come down to careful use of a stanley knife blade and solvent to remove the crud. Can be a slow process but the sense of moral victory afterwards makes it all worthwhile.

When I've seen cars with dealer stickers on the paintwork I've always thought I would go mad if my new car was delivered like that, I'd reject it on the spot.

I did mine just the other weekend!

Pull off what you can, then remove the horrid sticky mess that remains with plenty of WD40. My sticker was luckily above the heated elements.

Gentle heat from a hairdryer to soften the adhesive, then a solvent or meths to remove the glue.

Did mine the other day aswell. just annoying as it cuts out some of the rear vision.

Gradually peeled off without any fuss. Suggest a decent solvent such as nail varnish remover to remove the sticky/hardened crud but watch the elements. Use a cotton bud carefully and it should all vanish easily enough.

I once heard of someone who put his own sign above the dealer sticker:-

I wish I hadn't bought this car from

The dealer removed the sticker themselves. :bannana:

Olbas oil - for some unkown reason it removes sticky stuff like nothing else. its organic and totally safe

If you use it on internal stickers it keeps your nose clear for a few weeks too!
