removing the rev counter in a 113 Pagoda

Hi

the rev counter in my old 250 SL has started making terrible noises above 2000rpm, so I think I need to take it out and give it a good lube - easier said than done!

Anyone know how to remove the rev counter in a pagoda (1967 250sl). I have been able to get to the back of it, but you cant see in there and I cant feel any nuts.
