Hello everyone,
I've been reading an interesting document detailing instructions on how to repair a CIS fuel distributor
http://www.cis-jetronic.com/public_doc/07.3-0997-06.pdf

Has anyone tried doing it this way and what problems might arise? Is everything detailed clearly? Or is something not right?:wallbash:

Looks tricky, doable but tricky...

There are companies out there that rebuild these units but you can never be sure how many corners they cut.

If I had a problem with mine id give this method a go..

I tried it, and made it work on a Porsche 924, but to be honest I was never happy that I'd got it 100% right, and to take it apart again means lots of stuff jumps out/dislodges itself, so I got a good used one instead. If you are a big fan of Rubik cubes, kerplunk or building pyramyds out of cards then bash on, otherwise save your sanity and get a NOS one...

I've used KM Injection in London before.

This is the link to guy in the States who does the repair kit

Seems the the high ethanol content in the fuel rots the diaphragm.

My son in law had a problem last year with a similar Bosch system on a classic Ford Escort and Burlen services overhauled it for him as recommended from their owners club.

Looking at the strip down it looks a real fiddle to strip and replace without being in an operating theatre!
