My mirrors didn't always tuck out when I push the button. It had been getting progressively worse. You have to replace the whole headlight control assembly and is only available from Mercedes. It costs over £350 ! I looked to an alternative. My car is a 1996 C280 but I think the approach will be relevant to a lot of models.

I have attached instructions of what I did to resolve the issue. The image is the conductive paint I used

Are you sure its the switch that is at fault?
The wiring inside the mirror housing often breaks due to the continuous folding in and out.

Hi I am pretty certain as I used added wires while waiting for the conductive paint and it worked every time and has since I have applied the paint. It stopped working all together in the end.
