Hi,

My '94 C180's exhaust is now beginning to sound a bit 'pingy' when I rev it hard. Not always, just sometimes when I push it a bit.

Local garage had a quick look and said CAT seems on it's way out, it's done 118k and I don't think it has ever been changed ! It's the two pipe version.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced good quality replacement CAT and where can I source it from ?

Thanks

I can source one for £259.67 (less 15% for MBClub member) +VAT including delivery.

Hi, thanks for that, not a bad price at all, do you know who they're manufactured by and whats the warranty like on them ?

My Audi 90 cat lasted to 142k miles
- third party replacement price was £220 fitted inc VAT from
http://www.protyre.co.uk/ if they are in your area, they might be competitive for MB cats as they were the cheapest I could find fitted.
or for the part only try
http://www.gsfcarparts.com
£260 ex VAT but includes downpipe

Not sure of the brand as I sold my Audi before I fitted the cat.

It made by Fuel Parts UK, I think it is a 2year/ 24,000 mile warranty. Be careful, there are some very cheap and nasty CATS on the market. I could also arrange fitting at a reasonable price but you would have to bring the car to me.

Jimmy. Are these cats on par with MB quality, and what are down pipes made from, mild steel or stainless? Cheers.
