Hi
I think my Key Fob is playing up,their is a crack across the top button the one that locks the car. If i was to buy a case off Ebay. is their anyone in the Glasgow area that could replace the case. Or is it a possible DIY job ?
Thanks
Ian

You can DIY. If you are good with your hands and you buy the correct fob case that will fit your existing remote fob.

You don’t say what year your car is or what type of remote you have.

Thanks for the reply.
It's an 04 E270 cdi I only have the one key unfortunately.
It has the metal key in the side and I think it would be the B type no chrome around the edges.
Thanks
Ian

There is a video for the B type remote, but I think you have the A type, is that correct.

The last time I did this I to use the destructive method, unlike in the first video, I used a nail clippers to chip away the old damaged casing, until I could remove the remote fob PCB from the casing.
The destructive method means less chance of damaging the PCB.

Just an Update :
Bought a replacement key case from Ebay.
Used the Non Destruct Method. All good key works fine. Now if i could find a spare key at a reasonable price that would be great..

Ian
