Hi all

I attempted to change an Instrument cluster in a pre-facelift 211 yesterday with a working second hand unit . I was unable to get the mileage reading to code into the replacement clocks .
I have been able to perform this task before , and successfully replaced the instrument cluster in 211's before using STAR .
I wonder if MB have made changes to STAR since launching Xentry?

Can anyone advise me on how to recode second hand clocks so I can enable the mileage to be displayed ?

You have to have the cluster zeroed. It used to be "mileage can be reset if clocks less than <some small amount>". Its not Star, its the software in the cluster to prevent people changing the mileage in a car

Most cluster repair people can zero the mileage on clocks though.

Cheers ,
There is a milage threshold , I think its 250 km .

When I previously fitted second hand clocks,STAR advised be of this threshold and that the clocks had exceeded this , but allowed me to program the correct mileage regardless .

I had taught that having the clocks mileage zeroed might bypass this issue .

Thanks
