Hi,

Anyone have any experience in relacing the knobs on their ageing Comand unit? the rubber has deteriorated on my 2002 car?

Am petrified of opening up the unit!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You have to remove the front, panel and then strip it down (remove circuit board and keypads from the panel, then you can put new knobs in) - assuming you can find somewhere to get new knbos from ..

If you are petrified of opening up the unit, then I would not do it ! If you have the knobs, get an electronics repair shop to do it

Hey guys,

I have my eyes on the ones in germany (@£39 for 2 OFF). I actually only need one and mebbe we should share the cost if you only want one as well????

I have just removed my Comand unit and thought ..... oh dear......

But I guess once I get started - it'll be fun (maybe not).....

Richard - the Comand unit has a front section (like 10%) screwed to the restof th e main body.... is this the "front" you refer to? I was rather hoping the 3 inserts down each length were ratchet fit - but a wiggle and a pull and no movement - so I thought it's a deffo screw down cover.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Stu :)
