Hi All,

Now with winter here, I'm going to get the more neglected fluids changed in my car.

I called the dealer today and they have everything in stock to pick up tomorrow. Will be using my local garage to do the work (as they are 1/3 the price of the dealer).

I will be using MB Coolant and Power Steering fluid, however, can I just get the garage to refill the brake fluid with normal Dot4 or will this also need to be MB stuff?

Thanks in advance.

I used MB fluid DOT 4 plus.

Thanks, I'll pick some up from the dealer Thursday. Booked in on Friday for the work. :)

does not need to be MB brake fluid. As long as its DOT4 or alike there will be no noticeable difference except cost from buying a dealer branded fluid

Agreed....a branded DOT4 not necessarily from MB and TBH the same applies to the other fluids as long as they meet or exceed MB specifications you can save yourself a fortune but obviously they need to be quality equivalents.

Gearbox oil
Differential
Brake fluid
Power steering
Coolant

Yes but a £8 a litre for of the right DOT 4 plus and the MB invoice is it worth going for any fluid.
