Planning to replace the seat belts in my 2012 R231 SL.

Easy?
Special tools?

I know the belts could be rare(ish) and thus expensive, due to the colour, but, I'll bite that bullet when I know what sort of job it is.

I have no direct experience but advertisers of replacement belts say:-

"Installation requires professional experience and equipment. Due to this reason, we strongly recommend having the seat belts kit installed in a specialized workshop."

Quite expensive too €1202.04 a pair here.

Well apart from why change,on many cars you have a air bag in the door pillar and you have to be carefull removing the belt gubbings.

I'm curious, why do you want to change your seat belts?

It's the drivers seat belt that needs changing
The current belt is frayed from 10yrs of rubbing through the guide on the seat shoulder
The damage will have compromised the belt and it's not good to look at.

I'll try to remember to post a couple of pictures tomorrow

My real problem is, I know exactly what gubbins is and what it looks like
My dad used to warn me about gubbins 55 years ago.

From memory, I think there a YouTube video on how to change the seat belt in the R231.

Sorry for the delay forumites, things sort of overtook me

Anyway, the promised photo;
