Replacing S203 Boot handle and catch

One of the outstanding niggles on my car (2001 C Class estate) is a problematic boot catch and handle. The handle doesn't return to it's original position, nor does the catch which can leave the boot closed but not shut or locked.

They both look past their sell-by date and I've seen both parts for sale from breakers on eBay. Is it as simple as swapping them out or are there any coding/electronics (I'm guessing the handle is electronic rather than mechanical) issues I need to think about?

Any advice, experience of similar jobs appreciated.

I can not offer to much help here other than my 2003 S203 would not open unless you nearly ripped the tailgate off I removed the rear panel and found the micro switch was moving away when I operated the handle due to wear so I temp fixed it by cable tying it tight and it's still going strong six months later. Hope that helps
