I've just bought the falken 452's after many recommendations on here. Having them fitted on Saturday so will report back, certainly look good ;) I did think of going 'cheap' I could get a pair for £130 but a name I have never heared of. For me even 12k is two years so decided a mid range tyre worth the extra.

Mine are 245/40/18 and 265/35/18 try camskills online.

Falkens - Seem to be the flavour of the month - great reviews and I'm going that route myself in the next few weeks 225/45/17's quoted @£86 each fitted local boys near Heathrow

The Falken ZIEX 912's have had about 3k on them and never skipped a beat all winter, which is annoying as it means I was able to get into work :/ I really cant complain at 60 quid a corner fitted (225/60/15R) and 40-60k miles limited warranties.

Have you called Bracknell Tyres & Exhaust? Gave me a good price a while back (but not as good as my local place - Pirelli P7s at £110 each all in).

I replaced two tyres recently on my golf with Kumho's, which was what was on there already. I used blackcircles.com/co.uk. and you choose when and where to have them fitted through various fitters. I got a small discount as I work for Royal Mail, but it was only small! :D

If you're not to far away it's worth giving Micheldever Tyres a try, I've used them for both car and bike tyres, their service is good and they've always very competitive on price.

On the downside they get very busy and you can queue for a while.

Falken's have been popular for a while now. I have used Paul ( The owner ) at Matins Tyres for a number of years. West End ( Near Woking ) 01276 0856846 very competitive, the price he quotes is all inclusive.I have not found anyone cheaper that's any make of tyre.

I bought 4 Falken ZE 912's and cannot fault them, very cheap from Camskills compared to the usual big names. Went for the 912's rather than the 452's as any tyre with a tread pattern like the 452's makes the CLK pull to the left, the 912's do not do this.

I ended up getting four Nexen N8000 from a local tyre shop for £400.
