I have a Mercedes Benz B Class (W246), now nearly 3 years old. It belongs to Motability, the whole deal has been very good for me and they are an excellent and understanding people.

Because of the relatively small mileage I am extending the lease to the maximum 5 years. It is quite well spec'ed and is a loverly motor, solid, powerful and quiet. (no bl**dy rattles) It just behaves as a good car should...

Previously I had a Mk 1 C-Max (much enjoyed at the time). The (Ford) dealer was able replace the windscreen wipers, after a couple of years, as part of the lease.

The B Class is now about to go in for an A service, and an MOT. I will ask the MB dealer if they would please replace the wipers, front and back.

From reading the forums the recommended change period for MB is 1 - 2 years I believe, but I have no proof.

Does any one have a proper MB replacement schedule notice of some sort which I can quote to the dealer?

Why do you want a schedule repair notice for your wiper bades. If you want them changing just ask and they will do it for you :)

Failing that just buy a pair and replace them yourself. The new flexible blades are a lot easier to change than the old style.

Never ever had a problem on lease cars get a bad winter and wipers can only last a few months before they sleer and miss parts of the windscreen. I just change them myself or if it's close to a service just ask the dealer to do it, they have never refused what ever brand I have been driving at the time

Only use OEM. They are the best :thumb:

:wallbash:I agree with Ian, why not buy them yourself
Maybe the clue lies in
It belongs to Motability
???

Perhaps the OP doesn't have the ability to lean across the bonnet and change the blades himself?

To the OP: There's no "service schedule" as such for wiper blades as they last a variable length of time depending upon what use they've been subjected to. For example, it's really easy to kill a set of blades by wiping them across a frosty / iced screen. If you want yours changed, just ask the dealer to replace them when it's serviced :thumb:

Years ago they were always changed as part of the major service but that, along with such things as taking the wheels off, stopped when the pricing was "re-aligned".

I've no idea how stingy Motability are on things like this, but I never had a problem getting wipers changed on company lease cars - and they usually query every penny. I suppose the garage just tells them they're split or something.
