Reset fault messages on dash?

OK, so I got my brakepads changed at Kwik-Fit about 2 months ago but it still shows the fault message "Brake Lining Wear - Visit Workshop!" on the dash.

Is it possible to re-set this without paying the main stealer £100 per minute?

Thanks

Yes you can press the reset on the dash. But did Kwik-Fit put your detectors back right, if not the fault will continue to show.

Thats a bit worrying! They said it needed to be re-set by the main dealer. Is that correct?

I don't think so. I think they have reused the old sensors. The good news is that the sensors are about £5 and will only take a few minutes to fit. They are a DIY in the driveway job, or you could buy the sensors and take them to Kwik-Fit to finish the job they started.

Sensors can be reused if the pads were changed prematurely - otherwise as nickmann says you'll need new ones (£1.85+VAT from GSF) - though Kwikfit should have done this. Any decent MB specialist can reset the service message and would normally do so for beer money or gratis if you know them well enough.
