Hey Guys,

I was looking to upgrade my Instrument Cluster to a Facelift one and as the new ones are really expensive (around £800) I was looking for a used one which I could get for 1/4 of the price. BUT would I be able to get the Cluster reset so I can get it "married" to my Vehicle? Hope somebody can help me out on this one.

I am living in East London and would be able to travel around M25 area.

I know its possible, I bought a used cluster that had been reset to zero from a member on here. When it was put on my car and programmed for all the right specification it also took the correct mileage for my car.
Bad news is I cant remember what he said they used to reset the mileage but he did say it was approx £60-70 to reset.

do you remember the member name? I don't mind paying that much as long it can be done on a used one.

google "mileage correction"

this came up

say they can do this sort of thing for £40 or so

don't hold me to it its only part of a "google" search

so anyone who "corrects" milage could reset the cluster to 0miles and I can get it programmed via Star Diagnostics/Xentry onto my car right?

I thought that when they hit a certain mileage , (1000miles say) they were locked then.

Probably wrong , but i'm sure i read it somewhere.

You are correct in that once the reach a certain mileage you can't just plug them in and it will update hence the reason the cluster has to be reset to zero before you can programme it with Star.

I know on the BMW you have to can overwrite the EPROM (?) with one which has been read out from a virgin cluster ...

and yes the facelift cluster does work if it has been programmed via star diag developer edition as a few w204 drivers did in germany, they even fitted an w212 cluster into a w204

What car are you looking for the facelift cluster for ?

Alfie at comand (europe) has a W204 one I think, which came out of a brand new car when we swopped it for a KM/H one

I am looking one for my W204, I have got someone who has a C63 Facelift Cluster, but still havn't decided as I also want to know how much I would be looking at. Would Alfie be able to get that job done for me? Maybe I should inbox him to get a price for his W204 facelift one.
