Anyone got a small stock of random resistors and diodes kicking about? I live in the ar$e end of nowhere, and theres nothing like that round here - and I feel its a bit mad to buy 300 resistors / diodes for one single application of one each...

I need:-
1 x 470 ohm
1 x 1k ohm
1 x diode similar to 1n4004

postage cost covered :)

Why do you need resistors for an egr delete on a 300d/td?

Can I not just be blanked off and the vac line plugged? I thought only the cdi systems required the resistors to trick the maf?

Any car with a MAF uses it to monitor the EGR operation. The MAF needs to be dragged down 0.4v on the 300TD.

Guy,

I haven't got a set of these, but will pick some up if in town.

my 15 quid carsoft ebay bargain has shown up egr fault. Thanks DM, but please dont go out of your way.

maybe a groupbuy - ill get a hundred of each in?

You should be able buy [ online] small amounts of these components [ 5's or 10's] for pence from Radiospares, Maplins or CPC direct. Think to watch for is the rating [ current carrying capacity i.e the wattage rating of any component e.g 0.6 , 2 ,3, 5 or 10 watt resistors can all be 470 ohms ]. If in doubt always " slightly overrate" if you want long term reliability is my motto

I have a massive stash of old RS resistors and if I have the correct ones you can have them f.o.c. (as you're a VOD'er).
So, you can work out the banding colour codes then...

These specialist component companies are geared to the professional market and as such have a pretty impressive next day delivery record. For many years they only dealt with companies and would not sell to private individuals. They now make no distinction and I have to applaud that. I have lost count over the years the money I have saved repairing electrical devices with specialist electrical components I have sourced from them. Try going down to your local "electronics retailer " :p = Curry's or PC WORLD and ask for Field Effect Transistor if you really want a laugh. ;)

Or you could just parallel up two 1ks, or series 2 470s

Billy Brown runs over your garden, but Violet Gray walks.

There is a ruder version.

Guy,

PM your address, I've picked up some transistors and a diode.

There are ruder versions ... and very rude versions

N0 ... I am not going to ...
