Resonator delete: straight pipes, H pipes or X pipes?

(@350cls @Rich764089)

Please don't try and school me when you're wrong.

The GT350 and GT500 use the Voodoo flat-plane. The Mustangs in the video are standard GT models with the regular Coyote cross-plane.

Detailed knowledge of Mustangs aside, if you really know your V8s it's plain to hear from the sound that they are both cross-plane engines...

Sorry, not sorry.

I stand corrected, thanks for not acting all triggered. So which was the one that was a flat plane crank but they made it sound like a cross plane by using unequal length headers?

In our experience H and X pipes add bugger all to performance in the real world. If you are to modify your exhaust make sure the quality of the system is good. Seen many pipes bodged up to fit.

Marky This is worth thinking about .. All of these extra mods owners are doing to their cars , will be inspected under the new laws to be introduced in the new to come MOT test. And anything that was not on the car from new,, will end up with a failed mot cert .

Ive seen the article, I’ll believe it when I see it. Just can’t see how it would work in reality. And where does it stop? Brake pads, tyres? How will they know what was on from new for every model of car out there? But maybe it’s wishful thinking as my other car (below) has very few factory parts on it including the whole body!! So what, my car can’t be road legal anymore?! DE8E43E8-64B8-4CAF-88BE-9F53AF86027C.jpeg

There are loads of things people do to their cars now that mean they shouldn't get an MOT. Not condoning it, but that's the reality, so I don't think it'll stop all that many people modding if it comes into force, anyway.

That is amazing 😍

Well the first one will be ,, your car come with a cat fitted from new , sorry you dont have one, so you will need to fit a cat in line for mot pass . Tyres , and wheels , not the original size inc modified engines and lighting .

Hey all

I'm picking up my 64 plate SL63 at the weekend (can't wait!!) I know I will want to increase the volume a little. I've spoken to MSL / TorqueFlow about a resonator delete. He has given 3 options:

  1. straight pipes
  2. H pipes
  3. X pipes
I'm interested to hear anyone's experience of any of the above? Ideally on the 5.5 V8 twin turbo motor. And if you have clips even better.
Why chav it up?

Leave as is.

In my opinion updating it to add a little volume, add a bit more theatre / emotion to the driving experience is not "chavving it up" My idea of chavving it up would be slamming it on its ****, wrapping it in gold, fitting neons underneath and tinting all the lights so they're all next to useless! Oh and of course, a "pops and bangs" map! But hey, my perception of a "chav" may well be different to yours :)

Very snobby really.
