Hi, have you any pics of your car to post. I ran a 1973 Silver 280CE as a daily driver a few years back - nice car but rarely did more than 15mpg which got expensive doing 15000 miles a year. Was always battling the tin worm in the sills so hope you don't have that problem.

I remember getting my 250CE on the road in 1996. I drove it all summer after I got it through the MOT. I was in university at the time and my regular car (opel Manta GTE) died on me. I think that it took me 6 months to pay the fuel bills of my credit card!

At the time, 40GBP would get you a full tank and about 170 miles with a heavy foot.
