Hi all. After paying to have the parking sensors fixed now one of them has become pushed in and therefore is sensing the bumper surround 😕 I have searched the forum but I really don't the bumper off again so I wondered if anyone come offer advice or comments on my own plan?:
Glue a strip of plastic using superglue (?) or hot glue (?) and pull it into position
Maybe put some superglue on the outer ring so it stays put ??
Any ideas welcome.
And happy xmas to anyone reading 👍

Can't remember which car gave me this problem. (W220 / W210?) But when it happened to me I rectified by using glue on something to "pull" the sensor back out, and then fiddled with a thin bladed knife to get the glued bit 'off."

That's an amateur's comment. A bodyshop man will be along in a minute.

Probably quicker and less hassle to remove whatever is needed to gain access from behind :)

Thanks all. I think hot glue seems to be winning so I'll give that a go over the hols. Cheers 👍🎄

(NB I can't access the front middle left sensor from behind as it is inside a box section so is either bumper off or nothing.)

And "bumper off" can be "not so easy" on an older car due to corrosion and general "cack" behind the bumper.

Is it quite loose? Fresh Blu Tack on the end of a screwdriver?

My method in case useful:
Take a glue stick and a cigarette lighter. Squirt some break cleaner on the sensor surface to make sure it's clean. Heat the stick up with the lighter and then quickly stick it onto the sensor and hold steady while it sets. It will take a couple of minutes to fully fully set. Now pull but nut do it perfectly at right angles to the bodywork. When I did it 1st it just pulled the paint off... But, the 2nd attempt worked like a charm as the glue was on the plastic. The sensor snapped into place and then I pushed the stick sideways and it broke off completely cleanly - no electricity or glue gun needed.

What about the paint though?

Touch up pen...
I once bought a 'new' (pre-reg) Honda that was delivered from the dealer (a considerable distance away) with unpainted rear parking sensors!

It was a 5 minute job for me to colour code them with touch up paint (being black this was very easy) - much less hassle than sending the car back.
