Retro fit command w211

Had command fitted by Braybrooks no complaints all worked well until!
On a whim purchased TV tuner off ebay Bray brooks said no problem we will fit.
It appears there are TWO versions of Command for w211 1 with tv/video input 1 without and of course mine was without. All credit to Braybrooks they contacted there supplier and refitted free of charge so far so good now to the mercedes aerials. There are six pages of aerials for e class & as i have key less go we are now on page two. First one worked with remote but key less locking failed.The last one works fine with key less but not remote. There is no reasonable description against any of the listed aerials and dealer is as usal so helpful not.
Any comments!

Anyway, how do you know if the comand is tv compatible or not without ripping it out the dash?

Oh Pooohhh I just bought one from Ebay for my car (Tuner), how did they tell which was which? Mine plays DVD fine, just fancied a tuner. With my luck you can bet I just bought the wrong one!

YES ITS A BIT OF A CLOUDY SUBJECT ?? I HAVE A 2004 COMMAND UNIT AND ON CONTACTING GERMANY FOR A TV TUNER WAS TOLD I NEED THE PRINTER STYLE CONNECTER ON BACK TO CONECT A TV TUNER !

BUT THATS VERY STRANGE BECAUSE ITS SUCH A LATE UNIT 2004! IT MUST BE ABLE TO ACCEPT A TV TUNER !

Neil probably doesnt know that your car has a locking code in its VIN. In Australia we need to use code 762 for locking the car. Some countries use 761 or 763.

Depending on which right hand side amplifier you install will determine the function of the car.

The options for the amp are as follows
- TV
- locking with reduced range / with panic /without panic
- Keyless Go
- Special IR glass

I have no idea what the UK version is but I normally buy the fully loaded AMP for normal glass. Seems to work well. Go for option 762.

No it doesnt. There are two kinds. The kind I show are TV capable.

E / CLS / SLK on top

C / M / CLK / A / Smart on bottom

According to people that have done it you can buy the green connector from someone like DIGIKEY in the USA and just solder the connector in.

I have never seen it work though. I tried it and got nothing. But I also came to realise that maybe the cable I tried to connect wasnt pushed in far enough so the "test" was not conclusive.

I will try again in a few days and see what comes of it.
