Has anyone done this?
Any information would be great. Is the loom in place/ are the switches east to come by?/ can it be done to an estate car?
Pics would be fantastic:thumb:

I'm back again.

Looks like you'll need a few parts for an OEM install, and possible coding. The switches for the heated seats are built into the door window switches. There do not appear to be separate part numbers for the door looms when heated rear seats are specified: the only differentiators for the door looms are keyless go and rear side airbag. That suggests either the necessary conductors are already in the loom or that it's a message system rather than discrete wires. You then need some bits and bobs including a control unit A2118702126, which Inchcape sell for £286; and the seats themselves, which will doubtless be crazy money.

That sounds like a major tearup and expense: I'd go Waeco retro-fit myself with the switches in the back of the centre console assuming it's possible to take off and refit the seat covers satisfactorily.

Also read http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/64884-retro-fitted-heated-seats-w211.html which is about front seats but shows the rear seat switch.

The switches on a 211 for heated seats are located on the furthest left and right locations on the motorised CD changer / odment compartment.

I would imagine the hardest part would be to install the matting in the seats - a trimmer might be a good plan unless you are happy with a staple remover, and then streching the leather back on.
Someone with a 211 might be able to tell you where the relays and fuse live for heated seats - if it's front, it'll be reasonably easy to run the wires, if it's rear SAM, then still do-able, just a bit more to take apart!

The estates did have heated rear seats ,
To retro fit heated rear seats there's a loom needed , it plugs into a control unit under the passenger seat .
The rear door control units may need changing ,
I removed a set from an estate a few years back ,and if I can remember correctly the looms from the switch to the control unit where differant .
