Used laserline 4 sensor model, took about 4hrs. Very pleased so far. Will update with sensor fitted pics soon. Ran out of space on digi cam's memory.

Please add any comments here, very rough and ready guide.
And now I notice I can post pics.......grrrrrr since when......Oh well my 1st website...lol

Well done . . . useful mod ! Just what I'm looking to do on my W202 next.

Close up pic of the LED unit would be good, if you have one

Which sensors did you use again, and what was the total cost ?

How close can you accurately get to objects before the continuous tone kicks in ?

I used the Laserline http://www.laserlinedirect.com/reverse.htm

Its about 30cm if you choose passenger setting or 50cm for Commercial.

Cost £150. You will need to add cost of hole cutter.

Led isnt anything special, flashes faster along with tone, until solid. Which is about 30cms.

Had some recently fitted by JCT600. total cost 230 quid inclusive of painting and 4 reverese sensors. Excellent performance can get to about 15cm before sound get continous...given other parked drivers a shock of my aided ability to reverse park. They are called Thid Eye sensors with 2 yrs warranty all for 230 fitted.

I'm in the market for a set of these as well and 15cm certainly sounds better, can't quite see the point in ones that give a continuous tone at a foot away, you need to get a lot nearer than that to park my car as there is zero rear visibility. The BMW ones used to go continuous at about 4 inches which was perfect. Is Third Eye the manufacturers name?

does anyone know what the distance is for the OEM mercedes parktronic?

The Mercedes Parkatronic is around 10-15cm , the one that is factory fitted.
quickpark is listed in accessories list which is 3rd party ones. Retrofit Mb ones are available but cost more than MB factory fit( due to labour charges)

The Third eye is made by Korean company and is fitted by Toyota dealers incl JCt600.

I bought them from JCT600 but were fitted by a local garage...they are colour coded to MB colour code. To be honest they work fine and yesterday I would have reversed into a car due to all my rear windows be all misted up at this time of year( could wait for Air con to kick in). The sensors basically made a contionous noise and i braked in time. So yes they are Def work 200 quid for 2 years. I have the short manual so if u have any questions let us know

Specs are avialable here with garages that fit them.

Bummer, don't see any dealers in my neck of the woods listed there. Will any Toyota dealer be able to do it as my nearest one isn't a JCT600

Cheers

Ask ur toyota dealer to order it via one of those listed garages( or via JCT600 or Audio images in West Yorks)They could get it at trade and charge u for fitting. Or ring ur nearest garage listed make an appointment and have them fitted. It takes 2-3 hours to fit if sensors are ready painted by paintshop.

U could ask ur local toyota dealer what sensors they have. Forget asking BMW, Mazda or Lexus they will not fit to MB.

I would reccommend just the rear 4 sensor type. if you need back and rear then cost is around 400 quid. I thought of the electromag type but they only work if ur car is moving..so stop start is difficult...They avoid bumber drilling and can be bought from Honda dealers for about 250 quid. They are called Tronique.

How much does ur MB dealer charge. If u can get Mb to do it for 300 quid I would def go for it since your car is worth that extra cost. And besides Mb dealers know the CLK quite well if any probs occur. Bargain with them.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try the MB dealer first once New Year is out of the way as it's got to go in for yet another warranty fix. I'll check which one they do though as I want one that will go continuous beep at areasonably close distance

Cheers
Andy
