RETRO FITTED LEATHER?

Hi,

Can someone please tell me if it is ok to get retro fitted leather from Mercedes.

I'm buying a new car and the silly monkeys in Mercedes only have the one I want in Cloth. They said they can replace it with leather but I I think they get some mickey mouse company to fit it. I would prefer factory fitted, the last thing I want is that the leather starts coming out after I have brought it.

Has anybody had their car retro fitted and have they had any problems?

Please help!

thanks,
Sukhy

Mine was retrimmed years ago - and it still looks fine !

But it was retrimmed by a Rolls Royce dealer <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Retro fitting and retrimming are worlds apart however...

I have never had leather retro-fitted by people, but i have fitted at least 10 leather interiors (loads more cloth/velour ones!&#33<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> to cars within the last couple of years...(all mercs) It is quite simple and you cant really go wrong. Whenever i've done it, i beleive it to be upto factory quality, but i get a lot of practise...

It will be worth it. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'>

Retro-Fitted Leather

V12,

You say you are the "leather man"..................

Roughly what does it cost to convert from cloth to leather?

I'll probably just do the seats, but to do the whole interior is tempting.

The Car isn't worth that much, I have to keep the overall value in mind when splashing-out on stuff that may only appeal to me.

On that year of car, You will be looking at between £400-£600 for seats, is the owner of the seats knows what he has...

Coupes are always quite a bit more expensive.

A lot of stuff like dash's and stuff are the same on leather and cloth interiors. Mainly people tend to just change the door cards/panels and the seats unless they cannot source an interior in the same colour...then it can be work.

HTH :)
