W204 c250 cgi facelift petrol 2011
Hi

I've recently purchased a clk 200 coupe w209 57 plate petrol which unfortunately does not have rear parking sensors

any recommendations on which kit I should purchase

Could anyone help or advise how easy the install is, does the rear bumper need to come off

I am based in Coventry if there are any companies based in the west midlands who could do the install

Cheers

Someone here has recently posted a link to the kit which does not require drilling. It's a sensor strip which goes on the inside of the bumper. You access the inside of the rear bumper from under the car, but not sure on what sort of wiring is involved, usually would be a form of power source, connection to the reverse light to switch the sensors on when in R and some sort of speaker module to go inside. Dig the forum, you'll find the link.

The bumper doesn't have to come off. You can feel up behind where there is clearance to put the sensors in.
Also, there is a hole near the drivers side rear light to route your wires into the car. Pull back the trim there and you should see it.

I would be a little wary of this one.

It looks very good, with the facia being tailored for W209, but when I looked for reviews on the internet, I couldn't find one that was really positive. Most had install issues and issues with the radio antenna after install. Many said it was expensive for a Chinese unit (probably due to the facia), and several returned the unit to Seicane but only got partial refunds.

There seem to be issues if you have other MOST fibre attached equipment e.g. Harman Kardon, CD changer, UHI phone prep installed in your car.

It's a shame, but if I had found a few positive reviews, I think I would try one too.

I couldn't find any reviews apart from the site that were specific to the w209 clk coupe, i don't believe my car has any additional equipment

I have found another 2 units on ebay which look identical to the seicane unit

7" Pure Android 4.4.4 mercedes c class car stereo dvd gps W203 C180 CLC CLK W203 | eBay

2508EN Android 4.4.4 Car Stereo Headunit GPS Mercedes Benz C/CLK Class W203 W209 | eBay

At least those are better priced and would give Ebay UK buyer protection.

The question is whether our CLKs have 260mm wide facias? If they are only 255mm wide, then the alternative unit mentioned on the Seicane website may be the only one suitable.

Out with the tape measure tomorrow then.
