Has anyone tried to fit Aircon from a breaker into a W202? I have just brought a C250TD to replace my awful C220CDi W203  and the only thing I miss is the Aircon

Welcome to the board Harley man!

I think this has been posted about before and the majority came to the conclusion it's a nightmare of a job and would actually cost less to sell your existing car and buy one already fitted with air con.

I am in the process of doing this conversion on a W123: it is serious surgery.

It affects:

1. Wiring loom.
2. Radiator and thermostat.
3. Engine plumbing.
4. Dashboard of course - and wiring behind.
5. Front suspension (yes, crazy, but the added weight affects front spring rate-ask Mercedes-you need a different set of springs for a W123.)

It can be done. But it really is not easy.

you don't need to ask anyone I can confirm the above right now

If you're willing to accept a Diavia install (which is more or less identical to the MB OEM one...in fact years ago they were the same thing), the going rate was about £15-1700.

I looked into this for my C250...and then bought the Integra.

I have done the suspension component calculations with the VIN, EPC, scrap of paper and a pen so I feel your pain!

Problem is that these cars are not worth much now, and as the summer is over, enjoy it through the winter and drive it in shorts in the Summer!

I would really like a C250TD sport estate with sunroof and aircon with low mileage, but havent found one yet, I used to have one :) but sold it to get my C220CDi W203 and wish I hadnt bothered  . So I am gonna look for a C250TD with aircon and leather to break and transfer to my existing car, unless a better one comes along.
