Hi all

As per the title is it possible to fit the newer steering wheel a-la W219/W209 onto a prefacelift W211?

Will it be a direct fit I wonder?

cheers

Hi!

Anyone tried this yet?
I'm just trying to retrofit a facelift steering wheel onto my pre-facelift w211 and i'm in need for some advice...

I have a facelift wheel with airbag but i can't get the controllers on the wheel to work.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Insanely expensive - but if you HAVE TO do it then it can be done.

What parts do i need besides the airbag and wheel?
I really want to do this...

Transmission controller, gear selector, steering spiral, LIN module, wheel and airbag. Maybe also instrument cluster. Naturally also the shift surround which is the mode selector button.

Depends on the year model of the car.

Didn't Tudu do this on his beautiful C-class? I think Alfie and Richard are the experts hereand I would recommend you use the link on my signature to contact these VERY CLEVER people

main dealerships would always tell you that its not a straight swap or not possible.but it was proven wrong in my case as well when i swaped M5 STEERING TO 545 BIMMER

I've asked Richard and Alfie about this and was told its not an option.

If the car is in the same production run as the OTHER option it is a straight swap.

If the car is 2 or 3 generations or years preceeding the newer option it is a massively expensive fitment.

You can only fit 2009 options in 2009 cars ...or something along those lines. The year model is very important to the viability of the task.
