I have the full comand system factory fitted.. Now im thinking I should have included the reversing camera..

Is it possible to fit the reversing camera to work with the comand system or should it have been done at the time of manufacture?

I do have the parking assist beeping lights on the back and front, I mean, are these fitted when the car has reversing camera? Or do thay have both?

Any info would be highly appreciated..
Thanks..

I'm assuming the Comand has an AUX input, can you not wire the camera to that and tap the reverse light wire somehow. Your best person to talk to is Alfie from Comand online, he can best advise you.

Yes you can do it. A genuine mercedes camera is a couple of hundreds of £s. You can use an aftermarket camera though. You may need STAR coding to activate the green fakra connection for the reverse camera. Do a search on here pretty sure there is a thread from another w204 owner about this.

I am just about to order a FAKRA to RCA cable from a US company that makes them to do this very mod.

Anyone interested in this conversion cable let me know, and I add it to the order, will save on post and packing cost.

Good camera to use is the Kenwood CMOS-200 kit. £140 ish.

No star coding required on COMAND, just reverse cam to be activated in engineers menu.

Thanks npuk, I suppose that might work and a cheaper option.

The US company is the only one I know of that does the correct right angle FAKRA and the proper type FAKRA E (?!?!?!) Green.

Hmmm, I dont have the technical ability to fit it myself.. just out of interest, would MB do it and if they did, approx how much are we looking at?

I would imagine they would fit the MB camera. It certainly wouldn't be cheap.

Perhaps ask a car audio specialist to fit?
