Retrofit: Steering wheel shift buttons to W203 facelift

Hi!

I have C30 AMG facelift (-04). Do anyone know Is it posible to change steering wheel from C55 for exaple or 7Gtronic steering wheel with shift buttons. So want buttons to get work ofcourse with gearbox. Do I need some other equipment change?

Yes this is possible but you will need specialist help with it.

I have yet to come across a dealership that can do this.

If you want it done, then you can try approaching your local dealer. They do have all the tools and resources to do it but whether they actually know how is another matter.

IMO you would need a very friendly dealer for them to consider a retrofit of this kind. Most dealers wont want to know.... my local dealer couldnt code my instrument cluster correctly as it was a retrofit - tried twice and apparently even tried putting it in another customers car and try to code there aswell!. they told me it coudlnt be coded at all. they didnt want to know.

i sent it away to MBenzNl and he coded it for me and returned it.

i think you're best of contacting a specialist to do the work, rather than a franchised MB dealer.

I could be corrected but i would assume that it would be from 2002 on when the SCM was introduced.

I believe pre 2005 is difficult however W209's came with paddles before this so there may be hope..........
