    Certainly many a driver has inadvertently cooked his arm on the exhaust. I think it was 'Tim' Birkin who contracted septicaemia following a very nasty burn to his arm in this way.

    That was indeed how Tim Birkin died after burning his arm at the Tripoli Grand Prix.
