Mercedes C250 AMG Sport Plus
Its been some time since i last posted but wanted some advice from other Mercedes drivers.

Its the end of my lease period, i leased a Mercedes Benz W204 AMG Sport Plus 4 years ago and it goes back next week. It just had its inspection and i have been given a £755 quotation to get all the repairs done before it gets collected.

£84 per alloy x 3 (which to me is reasonable)
£250 for a bumper respray
and then ££ for a few bumps and dints etc.

Anyway was speaking to the gentlemen and he said because i was so under the mileage amount that i could use that as a bargaining chip against Mercedes Benz financial services.

I was allowed 20k miles per annum over 4 years (80k)
I have only done 42k.

My plan was to get most of the work done myself as its cheaper but am just thinking if i should contest the whole lot and say because i haven't done the mileage i said i was going to do, they would get more for the car when they auction it?

Has anyone had any joy with this or tried this? I am tempted to try but again don't want to be left with a massive bill.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would say give it a go, what have you got to lose? I never lease, but when I buy another, I always bargain /bartering is all part of buying anything as far as l'm concerned, and if they're not interested I go elsewhere. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Go for it! :thumb:

They will make more money on your car as it has low mileage.

Over £400 seems excessive for dings etc. I would speak to Chips Away etc and get a quote

Exactly, reason enough for a decent reduction. If you trade in a vehicle with a much higher mileage than its age would suggest, before they even look at it, a dealer will have knocked off at least £100 for every 1000 miles above what is considered the norm, 12000 MLS a year.

Your car has done 38000 MLS less, than what they expected, in my opinion the absolute least they should do, is swallow the cost of the chips, dints, bumps and paintwork.
By my reckoning your car has even, at four years old done less than average by 6000 mls,. .Which makes it a genuine low mileage motor. Haggle nicely!

I had the same with a seat exeo a few years back, mine was 18000 miles under a 20000 a year 3 year contract. Tried to charge £400 for bits and pieces but as soon as I mentioned the milage they backed down without even an argument. Has to be worth a try.

dear sirs
i am returning xxxxxx at the end of the x year lease on xxxxxx. the car has been checked against your return standards and these indicate that the following works are required:-
a
b
c
d
before commencing these works i would like to advise that the current mileage is xxx which is considerably less than the agreed lease mileage allowance of 80,000 miles and will obviously affect the value of the car.
Please advise what allowance you are prepared to give for the lower mileage before i commence repairs.
your prompt response is required bearing in mind the limited time before the return of the car
yours faithfully, xxx

no probs. you will just need to edit as my tablet carn't be ****d to put capital letters in the right places:mad:
