Reverse not possible

Hi, had an error come up on my CLA - 'Reverse not possible' this came on whilst I was doing 70mph on the motorway. I was only able to use gears 2,4 & 6 so I had to be towed to my parents.

The car has been in a 'specialist' garage now for 4 days and they have updated the software as instructed by MB but this has left the car drive-less and unable to select any gears. Anyone experienced anything similar to this before? The communication between the specialist and MB seems very slow.

We had the same issue on the 2013 b class. This was some time ago and the car was out of manufacturer's warranty but as it had full MB service history, we had the Mobilio cover. Called them out and the fixed the car at the roadside. The gearbox firmware was updated and after this the gear adaption was carried out. This was pretty noisy as you could hear the car slamming into each gear. All fine after this.

Seems like the garage have tried this and are now escalating to MB which would be the next logical step as they would have scanned for any error codes that the car may be throwing up.

Plenty of info on the internet on this but not sure this will help.

I am experiencing similar..changed oil in my gearbox all worked fine for 30km after that stopped at the garage and they logged with delphi and started a oil level check .The car did the check and gave a warning-oil level high and without changing gears fault P287C.Any ideeas?

I have seen this just the once. The gearbox needed removing and stripping to find the issue. We sent the customer to MB as the tooling is astronomical money.

The fault code means "Transmission adaptive values not learned".ok thanks
