Hi

I am looking at a 2016 e class 220 AMG. Problem is I am wondering what 19” wheels are like in relation to uk roads and
how bad they can be.

Has anybody got any feedback on the ride quality for a 16 plate coupe with 19” ?

Cheers

Can’t say I’ve found it particularly harsh although I would have preferred 18’s.

Hi thanks for your feedback

I take it I have the option to install 18s or is this not an option ?

Apologies I am no petrolhead I am afraid. My logic says a bit more rubber would make some difference maybe ?

thx

Much better ride than my wifes B200 on 18" runflats, i don't have a problem on my 2014 E250.

Both my E220 coupes , 2013 & 2016 ,had the 19" AMG alloys fitted with non runflats. I found the ride to be very comfortable and much better than my current C class on 19" with runflats. I never even considered spoiling the overall look by fitting 18"

I have 19s on my E350 coupe they are a bit less giving than the 18s that came on my E220 coupe, in fact I cracked a front rim on the 19s last year, motorways you probably wouldn't notice the difference, but local road potholes are a pain in the ar#e, for quieter road noise I've fitted Dunlop maxxx all round, general consensus on here favours Pirrelli P3s, maybe next time.👍

I had 19s on my 17 plate e350 and had 2 sidewalls split, I've changed to 18s and overall its a good change tbh.

My 220SE has stock 18” rims. I find the ride quality just right - firm but not crashy. And to my eye, anyway, they look fine.

Get one with Airmatic if you can, makes a big difference.

Don't think airmatic was an option on the E class coupe.

There are a few on Autotrader listed with AIR BODY CONTROL Air Suspension.

Hey guys

Many thanks for your feedback , it gives me good food for thought

I'm putting my 19s on once summer comes again. With some decent made tyres.

The C207/
Don't think airmatic was an option on the E class coupe.

The C207/A207 (2009-2017) E-Class Coupe/Convertible is based on the W204 C-Class Saloon (in spite of the E-Class nomenclature).

The choice of suspension options (and other options) is therefore limited compared to the W212 E-Class Saloon.
