Well - looking back at some of the previous posts on here, my recent problem doesn't seem too uncommon. The central locking stopped working, MB dealership looked at it replaced fuse and said "oops might be damp in boot - the pump might need replacing!" "oh... and the seals " - " around £1300 for new seals"
But it worked o.k til the next rains came ........yup, t'was no more! Have done all suggestions seen posted here before - checked seals, dried boot out, taken hydraulic pump and PSE out - made plastic tray to sit the foam on so not in contact with any water that gets in, and put everything back together - oh , and put new fuse in No.71? - but alas - no sign of life. I can hear the pump try to work - but to be honest it sounds more of a tired old groan than anything capable of operating the central locking.
Any ideas? How can I test to see if the pump has died? Is it a MB dealer only issue? Or does anyone know a good MB Indie around Chesterfield area?
