Hi guys,
I have a w203 avantgarde with 17" rucha alloys, 225/45r17.
They were originally fitted when i bought the car.
Does anybody know if they are the correct tire dimension for this car or should i change them to 205/55r16?
Thanks

What you have quoted (245/45R17) is a tyre size, not a wheel rim specification (which would be something like 17 x 7J ET52 - for 17" diameter, 7" J profile rim, 52mm offset)

R17 = tyres for 17" rims, so you can't fit R16 tyres (which are for 16" rims!).

Look in the back of your owners handbook, it will tell you what tyre sizes are appropriate for your 17" rims.

Even better, take a wheel off and check to see what size is stamped. Your car may have had a variety of rim and tyre options. When you know what rims you have you can decide what tyre sizes will fit.

Either speak to a tyre specialist or use an online calculator such as

Ejelta.com: Tire Size Calculator: 215/70-16

You have the correct size tyres for 17" wheels.

If you want to change to 16" wheels (can't think why you would) then 205/55 would be correct.

If you change your rims, I'd be interested in the Ruchas.... ;)

Thank you guys, What i really meant was: Is this tire dimension the correct one for this car? In my country is said that the car runs in difficulty with this big tire and every tire shop suggested me to pass to a smaller tire? I checked on mb dealer Albania and they confirmed me that this rucha 17" rims have been originally fitted when the car left the shop. Any idea?
