The aviation enthusiasts on the forum will know the name Bob Hoover who has died aged 94.

There are plenty of You Tube clips of his airshow displays - his signature trick was where he poured iced tea whilst performing a slow roll!

Very sad to hear that - an incredible pilot. Flying a bright yellow P-51 as the pace/safety aircraft at the Reno Air Races his catchphrase for the start "gentlemen, you have a race!" is still used today.

Watched his amazing Energy management display at Reno in 87, looping a shrike commander and landing dead stick with both engines shut down.
