Is this an episode of The Generation Game - it seems very amateur :dk:.

Category 'A' Insurance Loss.

Scrap only. For cars so badly damaged they should be crushed and never re-appear on the road. Even salvageable parts must be destroyed.

Possibly part of a drug dealer assets seizure? In many states law authorities are prohibited from profiting from the proceeds of any such assets so they are destroyed instead.

Was that not something about test cars. All manufacturers including MB make a certain amount of test cars that have to be destroyed regardless??

That's cropped up on here before - don't think we got to the bottom of it then either.

Wasteful but without knowing the full story - difficult to do anything other than speculate.

Shame if it is just wasted - although I don't like them so it's only the waste that bothers me!

True. Some pre-production or test cars are either not homologated or are built for the homologation and cannot be sold/used on the roads.

Yes, what a waste!

What's wrong with parking them on display somewhere or broken for parts? Even used as a track car etc

Didn't even drain the fuel. still that's what happens when the head bolts stretch in your M156 engine .............

This is true regarding cars used for training on Mercedes courses, there pulled apart and rebuilt so many times, and along with faults beng introduced into the car for Training purposes there scrapped.
