I’m trying to replace a faulty roof control panel or overhead control panel depending on your terminology!

From what I can make out the part number for my R230.474 is A230 820 18 01. I believe the part is also shared with a W230…

I have located a part that I think is correct but the number is slightly different – A230 820 00 01.

If I query that part in EPC it comes back as suitable for a 230.474.

Just wondering if anyone knows the relevance of the 2 digit difference?

Does it perhaps signify an older version or a means to differentiate between an R230 and W230?

Thanks

Not sure why this isn't on "new posts" Posted time? Anyway all help would be appreciated.

I would say if the number is different then its not right, but it could have been updated.
Best phone MB parts and ask with your vin number.
If anything like the Vito and Viano then they are big money.

Is there such a thing as a W230?

I had a look at the EPC and the 00 01 part number is 'stand-alone' as opposed to all the rest which are superceded numbers ending with the 18 01 item.

I wouldn't be happy paying good money for that on the off-chance.

Thank you :thumb:

R230 is the official name. Does get referred to occasionally.

You need to look up the part in EPCnet using your VIN number, and then expand the view to see all the old compatible parts (part numbers get updated if s/w on them is updated or if hardware changes occur) by pressing on the little minus or plus that gets shown next to the part number if there are older parts.
