so I went to my sl350 today for a drive after being left standing for a while ,it started ok but the batt lacked some whomph but I drove her and took the roof down which was fine however it will not go up !!! the roof switch just lights red and ding dings with a roof down sign on the left clock I have put the batt om charge in the boot to charge it up in case thats the issue. any other things to check before it rains ?

TIA Jason

I had a look at it and re seated it just to make sure , it looks ok but funny enough the raise button in the boot does not work either , I guess its just the micro switches in the mech at the rear and nothing nearer the front of the unit?

This may be worth a try, if there has been no warning signs on the dash check in the boot if there’s sufficient hydraulic fluid in the reservoir.
The pump & reservoir are situated in the lower boot left hand side. It is covered by a large piece of foam (for sound insulation) which is easily removed.
On the clear part of the reservoir there are two small arrows. The fluid level should fall within these two arrows.
Failing all your checks I’m sure there is a video on YouTube showing how to manually raise the roof again.
Good luck.
