Hi friends,

I had some work done recently the camshaft sensor was replaced as well as a leaky oil gasket which caused the gear shift to go awol.

shes now sounding a bit rough/noisy and drives lumpy.. sorry its the best way to describe it.

its not the merc it used to be and shes Its gotta go back to mb.

Any ideas as to what to look for? I dont think these poor techs have a clue.

are these Maf symptoms?

cheers

Hi,

i was experiencing the occasional misfire/ irratic idle.

After getting it serviced they told me that the oil gasket was leaking and the camshaft sensor was showing up as an error causing the gears to not function correct.

.. and then a couple of days later it went into limpy mode whilst i was on the motorway (not nice!!)

anyway, after fixing the gasket seal and camshaft sensor it now sounds rough and drives a bit lumpy and im sure the gears are still playing up!!

My problem is if it doesn't show up any errors on their super Star machine then they'll give it back to me saying nothings wrong.. when i know for sure its not right..

Oh its a '03 c180 komp. full mb history and 17k on the clock...

cheers

That is a 271 engine.

There is a breather pipe that splits under the air cleaner housing. Seen a few recently.
