On my e250 merc 14 plate I have a slight rubbing behind the steering wheel. Feels like a dry Bush or rubbing on the steering column.
Merc want £99 to diagnose this before I even get an estimate and before it's agreed as a warranty claim. I walked out muttering expletives.
Any ideas as to the cause?
Thanks folks

I have the same issue with my 2016 e coupe.

Almost certain it only started happening after the airbag recall.

I had it with mine after airbag recall, squirted WD40 didn't help much, and it's only now, reading this I realise it doesn't do it anymore.

Do these have a squib? If so it'd be my 1st suspect, particularly after an airbag repair.

What's a squib?! Edit ah googled it!
I sprayed the back of the wheel with silicon spray. But is the cowl behind the wheel adjustable? Ie move it down the column very slightly? Cant even work out how to loosen it.
