Rubbing sound from wheel

I suddenly have a rubbing sound from the left front wheel. It makes the noise every revolution and ceases when full right or left lock. I thought it might be the brakes binding but probably not ?
Any ideas or help would be most welcome

Dull sound or metallic grating ?

I had similar (metal grating) and it turned out to be that the backplate had rusted at the bolthole letting it come loose and rub.

Easily fixed with a repair washer rather than a strip down and replacement.

Had a look pushed the metal back plate away from the wheel, and hey presto !!

Was my local Indy, Chas. Sutherland that actually diagnosed the very same problem for me. By text, whilst he was on holiday in Spain, drunk.
